When you look outside your window, do you see trees lush with leaves, green grass, and maybe even some colorful flowers? If your answer is yes, you are one of the lucky ones. Research shows that having a green view from your windows increases ones sense of satisfaction with their neighborhood and ones sense of well-being. [1] The last thirty years has generated much data to support the health benefits of nature. Nature has positive effects on mental and physical health. Further specific benefits continue to be studied. Researchers are now looking at this link in greater detail to try better identify specific nature parameters and their links to health[2]. For example, what is the proper ‘dose’ of nature? [3,4] Another example, which tree planting designs are most effective in promoting health.
